Jared Williams looks impressive in cameo performance

Jared Williams, made the most of his first opportunity to carry the football on the collegiate level in SMU’s 28-17 victory over UTEP last week.

With 1:37 left in the game, Williams got his initial carry and ran the ball for 19 yards. He followed that up with runs of two and five yards.

A late arrival at SMU, Williams was the fifth running back on the depth chart when he joined the Mustangs. He leaped over three other players and is now the back up to junior Zach Line, who led Conference USA in rushing last year.
