Lakewood Ranch takes power packed lineup into district tournament

The Lakewood Ranch baseball team will take a potent offense into play next week when it begins play in the Class 4A-District 10 tournament.

Heading into the final week of the regular season, the Mustangs had three players with (at least 45) at-bats hitting over the .400 mark.

Andrew Norton led the way with a .457 batting average followed by Seth McGarry (.423) and Shane Davidson (.415).

Zach Larson topped the Mustangs with 30 runs-batted-in and was hitting a hefty .388 with a team leading five homers.

This is a power packed lineup with Andrew McNett (.377), Mike Lolli (.371 on 35 at-bats), Reggie Lindsey (.341 on 45 at-bats) and Brett Hanewich (.339). McGarry is also second on the team with 3 homers and 22 RBIs and Norton has team high .510 on-base percentage.

Lakewood Ranch carried a .343 team batting average into the final week of the regular season while holding opponents to .247 and outscoring them 193-88.

The second seed Mustangs (20-5) open district tournament play Tuesday at 7 p.m. at home against Bayshore.
